Media Release – ICE Unit Investigation Leads to Arrest of Saskatoon Resident

The Saskatchewan Internet Child Exploitation Unit has charged a Saskatoon man with child pornography offences in relation to an investigation of possession of child pornography that began in December of 2021. On February 17, 2022 members of the ICE Unit executed a search warrant at a residence in Saskatoon that was identified as the location where the offences were occurring. Electronic devices were seized for further forensic analysis and investigation is ongoing.

Kevin Munro, age 48, of Saskatoon was arrested on February 17th and has been charged with;

Possession of Child Pornography – Sec. 163.1 (4) C.C.

Make Available Child Pornography – Sec. 163.1 (3) C.C.

Accessing Child Pornography – Sec. 163.1(4.1) C.C.

He was released February 18th from the Saskatoon Provincial Court on numerous conditions.

The Saskatchewan ICE Unit is comprised of the Provincial Coordinator S/Sgt. Shawn Stubbs and investigators from Prince Albert Police Service, RCMP, Regina Police Service, and the Saskatoon Police Service. Their mandate is to investigate crimes involving the abuse and/or exploitation of children on the Internet.
