Media Release – December 31, 2019 Update

Prince Albert Police Service File # 2019-43281 – Assault, Robbery

On December 30, 2019 just before 9:30 a.m., the Prince Albert Police Service responded to the 600 Block of 28 Street East for a weapons complaint. A female victim contacted police advising two males, armed with a firearm and known to the victim, demanded her vehicle from her. The victim was able to leave the multi-dwelling residence and called police.

Prince Albert Police Service patrol officers responded and isolated the two suspects to a suite of the building, from which they surrendered without incident. A sawed off .22 calibre rifle was later seized from the residence. A 26-year-old man is facing several charges in relation to this incident, including assault, robbery and possession of a dangerous weapon. [Information 991116443]

File 2019-43286 – Robbery

Police received a report of a robbery Monday morning around 11:15 a.m. The male victim reported his vehicle was stolen by two suspects armed with a knife and a gun. The victim and suspects were known to each other.

Police located the vehicle and set up a containment around a residence in the 1000 Block of 17th Street West, where they located several people inside. Upon further investigation, officers also located a sawed-off shotgun.

A 30-year-old man is facing several charges including, robbery with a firearm, possession of a dangerous weapon, and possession of a prohibited weapon. [Information 991116453]

A 50-year-old man is charged with one count of possession of a controlled substance in connection with this incident. [Information 991116447]
