Update:
The Prince Albert Police Service, along with the Chief Coroner’s office, have identified the deceased person found at the scene of a house fire located in the 500 block of 5th Street East on March 20th, 2021 as 29-year-old Jeremy Starblanket of Ahtahkakoop Cree Nation.
The Prince Albert Police Service has now deemed this to be a homicide investigation.

Prince Albert Police are investigating after a deceased person was found at the scene of a house fire and subsequent explosion, which occurred on the 500 block of 5th Street East Saturday afternoon. The incident was reported to police at 1:40pm on Saturday, March 20th, 2021.
At this time, police have not confirmed the identity of the deceased and the Chief Coroner’s office has ordered an autopsy. Police are treating the death as suspicious.
The Prince Albert Police Service’s Criminal Investigations Division, Prince Albert Police Forensic Identification Section, Prince Albert Fire Department and the corner’s office continue to investigate.
