On February 23, 2022, just before 5:30 am, Prince Albert Police Service responded to a residence in the 500 Block of 5th Street East for a complaint of a shooting. The Saskatchewan Internet Child Exploitation Unit has charged a Saskatoon man with child pornography offences in relation to an investigation of possession of child pornography that began in December of 2021. On February 17, 2022 members of the ICE Unit executed a search warrant at a residence in Saskatoon that was identified as the location where the offences were occurring. Prince Albert Police Chief Jonathan Bergen has announced the appointment of a new Inspector who will oversee the patrol section of the service. Lisa Simonson was recently serving in the Sergeant rank and has now been appointed to Inspector.
