School Zones and Intersection Safety

An increased traffic focus is happening today in Prince Albert with a combined initiative between RCMP and the Combined Traffic Safety Services Unit (CTSS). The traffic blitz will be focusing on school zones and roadside safety. Officers will be watching for intersection safety, enforcing speed limits and ticketing and impounding unregistered vehicles. Animal Control Services to be Provided by Prince Albert SPCA

Effective September 17, 2018, the Prince Albert SPCA will be taking over Animal Control Services from the Prince Albert Bylaw Enforcement Unit. The new agreement will be for a trial period with the SPCA appointing Animal Control Officers to handle services as outlined in the City of Prince Albert’s Responsible Pet Ownership Bylaw. Patrol officers had a steady weekend responding to 295 calls for service between Friday night and Monday morning. On September 7, 2018 at 12:52 p.m. patrol officers responded to a weapons complaint in the 2800 Block of 6 Avenue East. Police took multiple calls about an incident involving bear mace. On arrival police spoke with a 14-year-old male victim who had been bear maced. The victim was treated at scene by Parkland Ambulance and then transported to his residence.
