File # 2018 - 10605: Assault of a Peace Officer

On April 17, 2018 at 8:20 a.m. an officer attended to a call of a lone female in an alley that appeared impaired by alcohol or drugs on the 200 Block of 20th Street East.

The officer located the female in the alley and arrested her for being intoxicated in a public place.

After searching the female for officer safety, a hatchet was located on her person. The female also attempted to assault the officer. She was brought under control and placed securely in cells. The officer was not injured.

The suspect was found to have previous outstanding warrants for her arrest. The 22-year-old female from Prince Albert is facing new charges of committing assault on an officer, resisting arrest, possession of a weapon for a purpose dangerous to the public peace and not being authorized to carry a concealed weapon (Info # 991048334).

The accused made her first court appearance on April 18, 2018.
