Effective September 17, 2018, the Prince Albert SPCA will be taking over Animal Control Services from the Prince Albert Bylaw Enforcement Unit. The new agreement will be for a trial period with the SPCA appointing Animal Control Officers to handle services as outlined in the City of Prince Albert’s Responsible Pet Ownership Bylaw. Patrol officers had a steady weekend responding to 295 calls for service between Friday night and Monday morning. Officers made 54 arrests, 44 arrests were made on people for being intoxicated in a public place. The top three calls for service were intoxicated persons (44), disturbances (35) and evictions (16).
