Weekend Update – November 13, 2018

Patrol officers were kept busy responding to 204 calls for service between Friday night and Monday morning. Officers made 22 arrests. The top two calls for service were for intoxicated persons (15) and disturbances (20).

File # 2018-37182: Assault

On November 10, 2018, at 4:46 a.m., the Prince Albert Police Service responded to a residence on the 1900 Block of 14 Street West in regards to a cab fraud complaint. A cab service had called when the male and female clients refused to pay their cab fare. When police arrived, the cab driver advised them that the male suspect assaulted him. Police entered the residence and located the male suspect arresting him.

A 39-year-old male from Prince Albert is charged with assault (Information # 991071452).

The suspect will answer to charges in Prince Albert Provincial Court today.

File # 2018-37143: Firearm and drug charges

On November 9, 2018, Prince Albert Police Service Patrol located a suspect male in a cab and conducted a traffic stop at approximately 5:23 p.m. on River Street West at 1st Avenue East.

Police conducted a search of the vehicle and located a revolver handgun, .2 grams of methamphetamine and a hydromorphone pill.

The 16-year-old male youth from Prince Albert, Saskatchewan is charged with possession of hydromorphone and methamphetamine, seven firearms related charges and a breach of his youth sentence order to not possess firearms, alcohol or drugs (Information # 991071434).

The male youth will appear before Prince Albert Provincial Court today.
