On November 13, 2018 at approximately 10:45 a.m. this morning, a male suspect stole a Fed-Ex van parked on the 1400 Block of Central Avenue. A delivery driver was unloading the vehicle when a male suspect took control of the van and sped off.
Police followed the van until it reached the Hazeldell area. Officers attempted a traffic stop on the stolen van which ignored the lights and sirens and made contact with a police vehicle before continuing back into the city centre on 2nd Avenue West and then out of the city traveling west on Highway 11 towards Saskatoon. The damaged van continued to drive at reckless high speeds and the Prince Albert Police Service and RCMP coordinated to stop the vehicle.
The suspect was successfully apprehended around the Hague area and is now in Prince Albert Police Service custody. Charges are pending. [Photo provided by RCMP].
