Media UPDATE - Fourth Arrest in 2021 Homicide

UPDATE – On February 24, 2023, members with the Prince Albert Police Service’s Criminal Investigation Division arrested 44-year-old Darren Masuskapoe from Prince Albert for the First Degree Murder of Jeremy Starblanket.

Darren Masuskapoe made his first court appearance on Monday morning. [Information 90480255]

This is the fourth person charged in connection to the homicide of Jeremy Starblanket. On February 23, 2023 Keyano Ahenakew [Information 90480254] was arrested and charged with First Degree Murder. On February 22, 2023 Henry Ratt was arrested and charged with First Degree Murder. [Information 90480253]

On July 29, 2021 Loretta Sakebow [Information 991167222] was arrested and charged with Second Degree Murder.

Investigators do not anticipate more arrests.

The Prince Albert Police Service responded to the 500 Block of 5^th Street East on March 20, 2021 for a report of an explosion and house fire. The fire was extinguished and a deceased person was located inside the residence, who was identified as Jeremy Starblanket.
