A 26-year-old woman is charged with theft and assault with a weapon following an incident at a business on 28th Street East Tuesday night.
Police were called to the business just after 8 p.m. for a complaint involving an attempted shoplifting. Staff said they were threatened with a knife after confronting a woman attempting to steal several items.
The woman ran from the store, but was arrested early Wednesday morning while police attended to an unrelated call at a different location. The woman has been remanded in custody and is scheduled to appear in court in Prince Albert Thursday morning.

The Prince Albert Police Service is asking for the public’s help in locating the suspect or suspects responsible for break and enters and damage at several local businesses overnight Monday.
Police were called to investigate complaints of break and enters at three businesses along Fifth Avenue East. The break-ins all happened sometime overnight Monday.
More than $8,000 in damages were reported. Police continue to investigate.
