Media Release - Possession of a Dangerous Weapon

Just before 2 a.m. Tuesday, officers on patrol initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed that failed to stop at the intersection of 1^st Avenue and 28^th Street West. Upon further investigation, police located a firearm inside the vehicle.

Two men are facing charges of possession of a dangerous weapon, unauthorized possession of a firearm, and being an occupant in a vehicle knowing a firearm was present. Both men are further charged with breach of court conditions in relation to this file.

Christian Blaine Michel, 22, and Preston Ray Bird, 21, are charged jointly and appeared in court in Prince Albert Tuesday morning. [Information 991213411]
