File 2019-38168 – Flight from Police

One man is facing charges following an incident Wednesday afternoon in the 2200 Block of First Ave. W.

Police responded to a report of a motor vehicle accident in the area just after 3 p.m. A small car collided with another vehicle at the intersection and damaged a power pole. Three people then fled the vehicle.

Police detained two men after a brief foot pursuit and a third male in the 200 Block of 10^th St. E. just after 5 p.m.

A 25-year-old man is facing several charges including, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, fail to stop for police, and careless operation of a motor vehicle in relation to this incident [Information 991111466]

File 2019-38210 – Possess Firearm

Police conducting a traffic stop in the area around Fourth Avenue East and Ninth Street late Wednesday arrested one man after locating a firearm inside a vehicle.

Police stopped the vehicle around 11:30 p.m. Upon further investigation, police located a sawed-off rifle, ammunition, and body armour.

A 19-year-old man is charged with firearms-related offences in connection with this incident. [Information 991111474]
