File 2019-41856 – Mental Health Incident

A 37-year-old male has been connected with the Police and Crisis Team (PACT) following a mental health incident late Tuesday morning on the Sixth Avenue East viaduct. Police were called to the area around 11:45 a.m. for a report of a suicidal male.

The responding officer was able to talk with the distraught male, who was provided with a hot cup of coffee and a place to warm up while police made arrangements for an initial assessment at Victoria Hospital and further involvement by the PACT team.

The PACT team has been in place in Prince Albert since October 2018 and pairs front-line officers with mental health professionals to respond to emergencies.

File 2019-41852 – Impaired Driving Investigation 

A 36-year-old woman is facing charges of impaired driving, exceed .08, and mischief in relation to an incident Tuesday morning in which an apartment building was damaged by a vehicle.

Just before 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, members of the Prince Albert Police Service responded to a call involving a motor vehicle accident in the 1200 Block of 28 St. E. Witnesses reported a vehicle had collided with a residential apartment building.

The 36-year-old woman is scheduled to appear in Prince Albert Provincial Court January 21, 2020 at 1:30 p.m.

There were no injuries reported as a result of this incident.
