File # 2018-19122: Assault of Police Officers

A male is charged after assaulting two police officers yesterday.

Officers responded to a disturbance call for an intoxicated male with a history of violence at a residence on the 100 Block 29 Street West shortly before 10 pm on June 20, 2018.

The male was on conditions to not consume alcohol. When police arrived they located the male in his bedroom intoxicated. Officers attempted to arrest the male for breach of his conditions. The accused physically resisted arrest and attempted to spit on the arresting officers numerous times.

Additional officers arrived on scene and the accused was arrested without further incident.

The 19-year-old-male from Prince Albert is charged with two counts of assault of a peace officer, resisting officers in the lawful execution of their duty by attempting to pull away, breach of a probation order and being at large of his undertaking.

The suspect will answer to charges in Prince Albert Provincial Court today (Information #991055847).
