Prince Albert Police deployed a Conducted Energy Weapon (CEW) during an incident Tuesday night in which a man with a knife became combative with officers.

Police were called to a business along Marquis Road just after 9 p.m. for a complaint of a disturbance involving a male threatening staff with a knife. Officers located the male suspect outside the business, who began yelling and punching and displayed an aggressive stance with police. A large knife fell to the ground during the arrest.

Police deployed a CEW while keeping the accused from the knife.

Additional police members and witnesses assisted in placing the man into custody. The 27-year-old suspect is charged with assault with a weapon and assault of a police officer in connection with this incident. [Information 991161860]
