January 7, 2019 – Youth to face court appearance for uttering death threats

January 7, 2019: 4:15 p.m. Update: A youth was arrested earlier this morning in Prince Albert and is expected to make their first court appearance tomorrow at Prince Albert Provincial Court for uttering death threats. The incident was initially thought to involve Carlton Public High School. Upon further police investigation however there is no information to suggest that Carlton was the intended target of the threat.

Police have notified the school the youth is enrolled in. To protect the identity of the youth the school will not be identified. Investigation to this point suggests the youth acted alone. As such no further threat is believed to exist.

**UPDATE**
An arrest has been made in relation to this incident. Police continue to investigate to determine the validity of the threat and if there are any other persons involved. Updates to follow. 

The Prince Albert Police Service is currently investigating a potential threat made via social media in regards to Carlton Public High School. The threat was received during the evening of January 6th and the police service has been actively investigating the matter since it was reported. Members are investigating to determine if there is any cause for concern, and until that is determined the public will see the police service engaged in high visibility security.

Members of the public are asked to report any suspicious activity to police.
