Sweetgrass Kennedy Update – body recovered

On July 14, 2018, at 5:05 p.m. Melfort RCMP received a report of human remains discovered along the North Saskatchewan riverbank near James Smith Cree Nation. Evidence collected at the scene by the RCMP was sent to Saskatoon for examination by a forensic pathologist and forensic anthropologist. The Office of the Chief Coroner has confirmed the identity of the remains as Sweetgrass Kennedy. Prince Albert River Runners launches for another year

The Prince Albert River Runners launched today on their annual canoe trip. The three-day, two-night voyage begins on the North Saskatchewan River at Fort Carlton and ends in Prince Albert. The program involves around 20 youth between the ages of 13-18 who are partnered with adult chaperones including several members of the Prince Albert Police Service.
