On behalf of the Canadian Police Canine Association (CPCA) we are pleased to invite you to become a partner in the 2010 CPCA Police Dog Trial Championships which has been awarded to the city of Prince Albert. Each year the CPCA Police Dog Trial is hosted by a different Canadian police agency. In 2010 the trial will be hosted by the Prince Albert Police Service and the Saskatchewan Ministry of Environment. The trials will take place from September 9-12th, 2010.
The Canadian Police Canine Association is a national organization comprised of active and past police dog handlers. The CPCA is not directly associated to any one particular police service. The membership spans the country and includes associate members from other police agencies world-wide. The CPCA (www.canadianpolicecanine.com) is a non-profit organization whose purpose is to bring its members together to assist one another in their vocations, share in their expertise and build strong camaraderie between them.
The 2010 Trial in Prince Albert will showcase police service dog teams from all across Canada competing in several events around the city. The most popular of these events is the public day event, which includes; Criminal Apprehension, Obedience, Agility, Narcotic/Specialty Detection and a fun event “Fastest Dog” or similar event. This public day event will take place at the Art Hauser Centre on September 12th, 2010.
The Prince Albert Police Service first hosted this national event in 1996 at the Art Hauser Centre. The public day events were very popular as expected. It is estimated approximately 10, 000 spectators viewed the events throughout the course of the day. This proved to be one of the most popular events Prince Albert has hosted.
As part of the 2010 dog trial, the Canadian Police Canine Association will donate all partnership funds that are not used directly for this event and any funds raised during the public day event to the Prince Albert SPCA.
In order for this event to again be a success we are looking to our community to partner with the 2010 Trial committee. The following information outlines the many ways in which we can assist each other and make this event a huge success.
